Vitters Shipyard Announce the Launch of 44-meter Sailing yacht Magic
Zwartsluis, Netherlands – The last few days have all been about the launch of project Magic.
Vitters Shipyard, in collaboration with the renowned Naval Architect Reichel Pugh, Design Unlimited responsible for the interior design and Pieter Laureys responsible for the interior styling, proudly announce the launch of Magic.
On January 3rd she saw daylight for the first time when the shed in Zwartsluis opened its main door after 30 months of construction. Her modern look was a great contrast to the charming village of Zwartsluis and the surrounding typically Dutch green fields.
On January 7th, it was time to hit the cold waters in Amsterdam, this moment marked a significant milestone in her journey. The 62 meter tall Southern Spars rig has been stepped on the January 8th.
Following the launch, Magic will undergo commissioning and sea trials in Amsterdam. Delivery is scheduled for February 2025.
Magic is an unique modern cruising sloop with sporting dynamic lines. The superstructure, with ample glass, provides a panoramic view from all positions and gives that extra spacious feeling. Her total length is 44 meter and beam is 9.66 meter. With her fixed keel she has a draft of 4.80 meter. Magic accommodates 10 guests and 7 crew members.
The covered main cockpit creates comfort and shelter in all weather conditions. The wide and spacious aft deck offers plenty of space to enjoy the sailing. Once the transom hatch is opened, this platform can be converted to a beach club.
Magic will be powered by a conventional drivetrain with a CPP propellor. A battery bank is installed with sufficient capacity for an eight hour silent period. All deck winches, furlers, tensioners and captive winches for blade, staysail, main halyard and mainsheet are hydraulic powered by Vitters’ inhouse engineered and built hydraulic power units. Magic is equipped with two submarine anchors providing a clean bow and foredeck.
The interior of Magic is a true masterpiece crafted by List, with its contemporary design seamlessly extending from the full-beam master cabin aft all the way forward to the crew cabins.
